{*first* giveaway: alabaster canteen}

**this giveaway is no longer open for entries. betty cabell is our winner**

apologies for the delay, was a bit under the weather yesterday.

but without further ado... a brown paper package wrapped up with string will soon be on its way to the mailbox of the winner of the very first giveaway here at {s&s}, courtesy of csn stores.

let's talk dishes then, shall we? white ones in particular. perhaps nestled in polo blue cabinetry even. there's something about white dish vignettes atop saturated paint colors...

in honor of the bungalow kitchen inching towards completion, get a head start on your very own great wall of china by entering to win your choice of the following three pitchers:

to enter, leave a comment below stating your favorite: {le creuset}, {vessel}, or {koi} and if you feel so inclined, humor me and tell me where it will find a home in your home. the winner will be randomly selected and contacted by email after tuesday, january 26, 2010.

and for a second entry, blog about this giveaway and leave a separate comment with the link to your blog post.

if you are the lucky one to win, perhaps a floral celebration is in order...

I am in love with Le Creuset. We recently moved to an historic apartment that has big, glass cabinets in the kitchen and penny-tile countertops. This pitcher would look good next to my blue and white mixing bowls. :)

it is such a hard choice, but i think i love the koi best! i would put it with tulips on the dining room table, or in my windowsills that double as bookshelf displays. <3

ooohhh....i agree with you, betty cabell! my heart pitter patters for the koi! i would place the koi on the corner of the coffee table in the living room in the st. simons house for now. after all, as a symbol for love and friendship it would make the perfect "lucky token" to woo a buyer. the koi would then make a perfect transition to a yet-to-be-found charleston home.

I lOVE the Koi! I recently saw one in a shop on King Street in Charleston that made an awesome "glug glug" noise when you poured from it! I think it would look great displayed on the wall shelves in our dining room. I love matching basics (white) with silver frames which is what we have up there now!

i am a sucker for le creuset and this is the perfect white pitcher. it would live in my kitchen or dining room table where it would be used, always.

I am also in love with the koi. It would look fabulous in the center of our (soon to be) refinished antique dining room table or on our shelves in the dining room.

They're all darling, but I think the vessel would look so cute in my little home. I'd love to place it under the kitchen window on my butcher block "counter" (ok, it's a cart) with flowers to welcome spring:)

i would have to say the vessel is my favorite, and i would place it on my bookshelves with my other monochromatic items that frame my dining room.

Vessel, vessel, vessel! It BELONGS in my home which is styled with clean lines, heavy furniture and neutral colors. Something mustard yellow or burnt orange would undoubtedly poke out from the top. Come home to me Vessel! love you Swin....proud to be one of your many, many readers. xoxo

Thanks for the giveaway! I love the Koi pitcher. It's so Jonathan Adler! :)

Oooo. White pitchers look perfect anywhere! But I would have to say that with some fresh lavender from the back yard, and considering my newfound joy in flyfishing, the Koi would look absolutely perfect as a centerpiece on my dark cherry dining room table! Thanks for the give away SS!

I'm partial to the vessel - it would look lovely by the sink in my kitchen sink with some pretty flowers.

Love the vessel. Definitely a centerpiece for flowers for a week or so - it's awesome!

I'd gladly find a home for all three, but the koi would be my choice as well. Love the detailed design in the understated white. (I'm still working on finding a home right now, but it'd find a lovely spot wherever we end up!)

It seems I am in good company with liking the Koi best. It's hard to pull off a vase with such intricate design, but it totally works! I would actually give it to my parents who live in Key West and (oddly enough) have a koi pond running through their foyer! It's kind of become our family joke, so I think it would look great on a shelf above their koi pond maybe holding some short-stemmed birds of paradise.

I love the koi! I would put it on our mantle - I love how white ceramics highlight the white woodwork and white brick fireplace in our living room.

Koi please! I tend to go for more simple designs, but for some reason I'm very drawn to that one. I think it would likely end up on my mantle far from the grips of my mischievous pup, filled with either tulips or irises come spring!

white pitchers are the freshest! for love of all things critter, the koi claims my instant affection. i could picture him nestled swimmingly in my favorite living room beside blue ikat pillows, quenching the thirst of a saffron snapdragon bouquet. BUT le creuset (though not delicate, poised) is utterly classic. believe it or not, a mini-cow may soon grace Grace Street, and i cannot imagine a finer milk maid than this petite coquette. {!}
