{swedish color}

can't get enough of this little bedroom nook in this colorful indian-inspired swedish apartment.

a white filigree screen is perfect for creating division in a tiny space. love that she can use the opposite side as a backdrop for her closet.

have lately been drawn to light pastels with neutrals and a backdrop of white.

{harlequin romance}

yuegh! ...looking at the post from yesterday and just cringing at the kitchen floor. don't think scandanavian white floors have been forgotten! and let me just show you what's in store for the kitchen...

{floor motif}

knowing that painting the floors in the bungalow is already in the works, im starting to get a little fidgety about having every one of them a plain white. and i just noticed today how i've been collecting quite a few photos of patterned painted floors. my dreams are swimming in harlequin, chevron, stripes, & florals. i'm thinking the kitchen might be my guinea pig. (i should also offer as a side note, that b is rather skeptical about patterned painted floors. when discussing their potential i am met with the one eyebrow stare. so darling, these are for you.)

{hands on deck}

now that the paperwork is all done (thank goodness), one of the first things b & i will tackle ourselves are the floors (currently a muddy brown stain, courtesy of a previous owner's sweat equity --er perhaps just sweat). and this first photo pretty much sums up how i feel about painting them a gleaming white. jonathan adler has informed me of the brilliance of using marine deck paint, but i'm not sure we are going for the high-gloss and flawless paint job. i rather like a well worn floorboard. makes you feel like you've lived there for years...

{two from house beautiful}

two photos i keep coming back to from house beautiful. & now big plans to implement ideas into our bungalow.

generous canvas fabric yardage + worn french farmhouse table :: a stage for ever changing floral, lighting & literature vingette.

j. adler creates easy breezy entrance with ralph lauren pocket watch white + pop of turquoise + marine deck paint for the floors (sheer genius !)
